Bill Withers achieved worldwide fame with his two classics, "Ain't No Sunshine" and "Lean on Me," and he wrote other venerable hits and covered songs from Joe Cocker to Isaac Hayes to Kiss 

His voice is smooth, his vocals are subtle, and his songs move over smooth, sexy grooves. It all sounds so fleet-footedly effortless that it's easy to overlook how extensive Withers' work really is. Never flashy, his best songs radiate a warmth that lingers long after the last note is played
