On March 16, 1968, one of the immortal soul songs in music history celebrates a milestone anniversary: 50 years ago, Otis Redding conquered number 1 in the American pop and R&B charts with "(Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay". It was also the King of Soul's first number 1 hit, which he tragically did not live to see in person. Although we will never know for sure what his next album would have sounded like, the "Dock Of The Bay Sessions" that are now being released show for the first time what it could have been like. Indescribably good!
