One of the most exciting singer-songwriters from Rio de Janeiro in the last 15 years is about to make his long overdue breakthrough in the USA. Rogê (pronounced haw-zheh), who now lives in Los Angeles, was known before his move as the “Prince of Lapa” - the beating heart of Rio's nightlife. With his charismatic charisma, laid-back style and unmistakably raspy, boyish voice, Rogê, real name Roger José Cury, has won an enthusiastic fan base. His swinging samba funk, enriched with Brazilian soul, made him a crowd favorite. His fame grew further when he co-wrote the theme song for the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil. His new album, Curyman, was lavishly produced by Thomas Brenneck. Brenneck, a leading session guitarist and producer who has worked with stars including Lady Gaga, Beyoncé & Jay-Z and Amy Winehouse, is using the album to establish his new label Diamond West. An impressive step for an extraordinary artist!
