“Thoughts of You” - as a phrase - immediately evokes associations of love, tenderness, fantasy or even obsession. It is precisely these feelings that form the basis of Salvator Dragatto's debut LP for Colemine Records. The allure and drama of black and white photography has always played a central role in the way Salvator (aka Joseph Reina) not only perceives the world, but also experiences music. During the making of the record, the parallels between film and music became increasingly clear: limitations in exposure are reflected in the limited possibilities of the tracks. Film grain and dust deposits are in dialog with tape hiss and scratchy EQ pots. A work that is characterized as much by its aesthetic depth as by its sonic intensity.
